Clopidogrel belongs to a group of medicines called antiplatelet medicinal products. By preventing this clumping, antiplatelet medicinal products reduce the chances of blood clots forming (a process called Thrombosis). It is taken by adults to prevent blood clots (thrombi) forming in hardened blood vessels (arteries), a process known as Atherothrombosis, which can lead to atherothrombotic events such as stroke, heart attack, or death.

The recommended dose, including for patients with a condition called 'Atrial Fibrillation' (an irregular heartbeat), is one 75 mg tablet of Clopidogrel per day to be taken orally with or without food, and at the same time each day. If you have experienced severe chest pain (unstable angina or heart attack), your doctor may give you 300 mg of Clopidogrel (1 tablet of 300 mg or 4 tablets of 75 mg) once at the start of treatment. Then, the recommended dose is one 75 mg tablet of Clopidogrel per day as described above.

Procoralan contains 5 mg of Ivabradine, which is used for the symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris (chest, jaw, and back pain brought on by physical effort) in adults with coronary artery disease (heart disease caused by the obstruction of blood vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle). It is used in patients who cannot be treated with beta blockers (another type of medicine to treat angina) or in combination with beta blockers in patients whose disease is not controlled with them alone and whose heart rate is at least 70 beats per minute. Procoralan is also used in patients with long-term heart failure (when the heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body). The symptoms of heart failure are caused by the heart not pumping enough blood around the body. By lowering the heart rate, Procoralan reduces the stress on the heart, thereby slowing the progression of heart failure and improving symptoms.

The usual recommended initial dose is 180 mg orally given as a loading dose (an initial higher dose that may be given at the start of a course of therapy before decreasing the dose down to a maintenance dose) following an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) event (conditions associated with sudden, reduced blood flow to the heart like heart attack).
It is usually recommended that you continue treatment with 90 mg twice daily during the first year after an ACS event, followed by 60 mg twice daily after 1 year.
